Power BI Architect - Supply Chain & Security Data Analytics
Location Requirement
This is a hybrid role based in New York City. Remote work is not available - candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the NY area.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Architect to lead enterprise-level analytics initiatives in the supply chain domain, with an emphasis on building secure, scalable BI solutions.
The role focuses on designing and delivering high-performance data models and dashboards that drive actionable business insights while maintaining a security-minded approach to data architecture and governance.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Power BI, Snowflake, and dimensional modeling, with a strong track record of translating complex business requirements into effective BI solutions particularly within high-compliance or security-conscious environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement end-to-end data models for complex supply chain scenarios
Build semantic layers and star schemas to enable intuitive, high-performance analytics
Work with Snowflake, other cloud/on-prem data sources, and design optimized data structures
Collaborate with business stakeholders and data teams to define KPIs, dimensions, and fact tables
Develop optimized Power BI reports, dashboards, and paginated reports
Define and enforce best practices for data modeling, governance, and security (Row-Level Security, data masking, and access control)
Provide mentorship and architectural guidance to BI developers and analysts
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of experience in data analytics and BI architecture roles
Advanced expertise in Microsoft Power BI (DAX, Power Query, visualization best practices)
Strong background in Snowflake and star schema design for analytics
Proven experience in dimensional modeling and supply chain data (inventory, procurement, demand planning, logistics, etc.)
Strong SQL skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets
Demonstrated experience implementing secure BI solutions with RLS, data masking, and governance controls
Security-minded approach to data design, with awareness of sensitive data handling and access best practices
(Preferred) Prior experience working with security-related datasets or analytics in regulated industries (e.g., security operations, risk analytics, compliance reporting)
Ability to align technical solutions with business goals
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft certifications (Power BI, Azure Data Engineer).
Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, or dbt.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD for BI workflows.
