    POSITION TITLE: Project Engineer

    DEPARTMENT: Engineering

    REPORTS TO: Engineering Supervisor

    POSITION SUMMARY: The Project Engineer position supports Paradigms staff and customers on all aspects of electrical, structural, and mechanical design and application.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop Paradigm standards and specifications.

    • Understand design and code requirements in preparation of engineering deliverables for all phases of a project including: proposal, conceptual design, preliminary design, and detailed final design.

    • Ensures effective communications among the company, Vendors, Sub-contractors, engineering firms, and clients.

    • Coordinate with clients and sub-clients to determine project requirements, schedules, and deliverables.

    • Collaborate with team to create more efficient methods to maintain profitability.

    • Provide technical leadership at Pre-Inspections, Factory Acceptance, and Witness Testing.

    • Perform project tasks on time to maintain project deadlines.

    • Review equipment drawings to ensure it meets project application.

    • Create Interconnects schedules for wiring that needs to be provided in building between equipment in the building.

    • Review and markup equipment drawings to ensure it will operate the way the customer requests.

    • Assist Paradigm technicians, Sub-Contractors, and customers, with troubleshooting equipment and control issues.

    • Additional Duties as Needed Per Managers Discretion

     

    Requirements:

    • Some travel Required.

    • Some field work / supervision.

    • Experience in CAD and Microsoft Office.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Extensive knowledge of NFPA, NEC, and all applicable Electrical codes. Working knowledge of applicable Industry Codes and Standards (e.g. IEC, ANSI, IEEE, ISA).

    • Thorough knowledge of Electrical engineering and design practices including drawings, specifications, codes, building materials and costs, and construction techniques.

    • Experience in medium and low voltage power distribution system design and the preparation of Electrical equipment and systems procurement and installation specifications.

    • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking

    • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.

    Important Qualities and Characteristics: Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritize, be a team player, and a problem solver are all necessary for this position.
