    Full-time Program Coordinator requires a wide variety of high level responsibilities to support all facets of the organization and its programming. In addition to being highly organized, the Program Coordinator should also be a creative, dynamic person responsible for dreaming up exciting, engaging ideas for both our local and growing global community.

    Power for Parkinson's is a rapidly expanding local non-profit organization that provides multiple free mind and body fitness classes of the widest variety. Prior to Covid, PFP provided 13 weekly classes at 9 different locations in the Austin area. During the pandemic, our classes shifted to a fully virtual format on YouTube, transforming our program into a global movement. Our mission is to improve the wellbeing of people diagnosed with Parkinson's disease through group fitness and social interaction, both of which have been proven highly beneficial for people with Parkinson's.

    Primary responsibilities:

    • Help reestablish and expand local programming including location scouting and communications with various class locations.
    • Handle instructor communications and scheduling.
    • Serve as volunteer coordinator including recruiting, retaining, and scheduling volunteers.
    • Host and help coordinate multiple fundraising and community events throughout the year.
    • Build strong client, donor, and community relationships.
    • Coordinate with global participants within the organization's Ambassador Program.
    • Schedule both virtual & in-person classes, interviews, and events.
    • Respond to program inquiries via phone and email as needed.
    • Attend 2-3 local Power for Parkinson's classes per week when in-person classes resume.
    • Moderate 1-2 weekly YouTube livestream classes.
    • Provide general support for director, staff, volunteers, and board of directors.

    Qualifications & skills:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher strongly preferred.
    • 3-5 years experience working with the nonprofit sector is preferred.
    • Outgoing personality with exceptional interpersonal skills and willingness to immerse oneself in the Power for Parkinson's community.
    • Highly organized, responsible, and assertive self-starter and team player.
    • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
    • Extensive computer skills including Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, photo and video editing, Mailchimp and/or Constant Contact, and Mindbody software.
    • Familiarity with all forms of social media (especially Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube).
    • Ability to work with diverse staff, volunteers, and program participants. Experience working with older adults is preferred.
    • Flexible and creative with the ability to “think on your feet” and be comfortable with a rapidly changing environment and a variety of tasks.
    • Compassionate and passionate, with a true desire to help people.

    This is a 30+hour/week position. The position is partially remote, but will require dedicated in-person office hours each week, as well as on-site class visits. Because we work face-to-face with a high-risk population, all candidates must be fully vaccinated per current CDC guidelines with the exception of those who are unable to get vaccinated for medical, disability, or other reasons. Must have general in-person availability Monday through Friday between 9am-3pm, although hours may vary within those times. Evenings and weekends will be required periodically, especially related to fundraising and events.
