    About the Role
    Our client is seeking a Power Platform Engineer / Power Apps SME to support modernization efforts for mission-critical systems within the U.S. Department of State. This role is ideal for a hands-on Power Platform engineer who can design, build, and deliver secure, scalable applications in a federal environment.

    The selected candidate will use Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Power Fx, APIs, Azure services, and enterprise data sources to replace or modernize legacy tools and improve business processes across the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    Power Platform Development

    • Design and build enterprise-grade Canvas and Model-driven Power Apps

    • Develop advanced Power Automate workflows, integrations, and business process automation

    • Create Dataverse data models, security roles, governance controls, and reusable architecture patterns

    • Use Power Fx and Power Platform best practices to build scalable and maintainable solutions

    Legacy Modernization

    • Evaluate existing .NET and legacy applications

    • Recommend whether systems should be rebuilt, re-architected, integrated, or modernized using Power Platform

    • Develop proof-of-concept solutions to demonstrate low-code modernization capabilities

    Integration and Architecture

    • Integrate Power Platform solutions with APIs, Azure services, and enterprise systems

    • Support secure cloud architecture, application lifecycle management, and platform governance

    • Help establish standards for development, deployment, security, and maintenance

    Stakeholder Support

    • Work directly with mission stakeholders, users, and technical teams

    • Translate complex business requirements into intuitive, user-friendly applications

    • Produce technical documentation and provide training to technical and non-technical audiences

    • Mentor users and team members on sustainable Power Platform design and support

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of application development experience

    • 3+ years of enterprise Power Platform development experience

    • Strong hands-on experience with:

      • Power Apps, including Canvas and Model-driven apps

      • Power Automate workflows and integrations

      • Dataverse schema design and security model

      • Power Fx

      • Power Platform solution architecture

    • Experience integrating APIs and enterprise data sources

    • Understanding of governance, security, lifecycle management, and best practices within Power Platform

    • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

    • U.S. citizenship required

    • Active Secret Clearance required or ability to obtain one

    Required Certifications

    • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals

    • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supporting federal or high-compliance environments

    • Azure services and secure cloud architecture experience

    • Power BI integration and data visualization experience

    • DevOps, CI/CD, and ALM experience for Power Platform

    • Agile or Scrum delivery experience

    • UX/UI design best practices

    Preferred Certifications

    • Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert

    • Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Developer
