EXPERIENCED FIBER SPLICER WITH UG AND ITS EXPERIENCE NEEDED

JOB DESCRIPTION
PowerComm USA, LLC is a premier installation company looking for a fulltime Fiber Splicer who will be responsible for terminating and testing aerial and underground fiber optic systems, updating, and maintaining project tracking information such as production sheets, time sheets and customer required paperwork. The Fiber Splicer will be responsible for prepping and splicing fiber optic cable. Familiar with fiber optic splice closures, OTDR testing, Optical power meter and Fiber Identifier. Preferably the Fiber Splicer will be familiar with UG Installation projects, the installation and maintenance services for fiber optic and wireless communications, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), traffic signalization, and broadband telecommunications solutions. Installation of ITS Devices, Signal Heads, Wiring of cabinets, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
· 2+ years of experience as a fiber splicer with experience on outside plant or system installations while working from blueprints, specifications, and system documentation.
· Will have a thorough working knowledge of most widely used construction practices of fiber cable.
· Must have the experience to detect safety issues and work independently.
· A pre-employment, on site skills assessment certification will be required. The applicant must successfully prove to the satisfaction of the construction supervision that he/she possesses the fiber splicing abilities required for this position.
· This position requires significant time doing manual labor functions, walking on uneven ground, working in tight spaces and in general, being overall physically demanding. Must be able to perform heavy physical work and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
· Must be able to handle the physicality of an ITS UG installer: weather conditions, heavy lifting (30-80 pounds), and extensive walking.
· Recognize safety procedures and quality highlights.
· Reliable employee, always on time.
· Must have strong decision-making and problems solving skills with emphasis on the ability to evaluate and access complex situation using independent and sound judgments.
· Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
· Must be able to provide proper project documentation to include status, materials used/installed, projected finish date etc.
· Present company brand professionally and accordantly.

· Driver’s License Required, Preferred Class A CDL Driver’s License (ABILITY TO DRIVE MANUAL VEHICLE)
