JOB SUMMARY
Senior Linux Administrator Ansible Expert to be an integral part of the day-to-day operations of a large data center at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
This position supports 24x7 mission-critical systems hosted on physical and virtual servers in an active clustering environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for managing Client's Linux based Identity Management platform.
Provide O&M support activities across multiple datacenters
Communicate with leadership regarding matters of significant importance to the organization. May conduct briefings with senior leaders within the job function.
Responsible for improving upon existing processes and systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation.
Manage, track, report, process and assign support tickets or change requests daily.
Attend change, problem management, AAR and other review boards as required.
Monitors system health and configurations in order to ensure system health and functionality as well as remediate problems/issues in a timely manner.
Monitor incident trends and coordinate process improvement proactive resolution processes.
Develop, implement and enforce process and SOP’s for O&M and incident response.
Demonstrates technical innovation in supporting client’s objectives and mission.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS degree with at least 8-10 years of experience. In lieu of degree, 4 years of additional experience in a related field
8-10 full-time years of progressive operations experience into an enterprise setting, including demonstrated O&M experience (advanced troubleshooting, patching, hardening, etc.).
6+ years of hands-on experience managing the RedHat Identity Management suite (IDM)
High proficiency (5+ years) of script writing in Perl, Python and various shells.
2+ years of progressive VMware experience.
Able to perform rotational on-call support in a 24x7x365 operational environment.
Familiarity and practical application of advanced principles of ITIL/ITSM.
Knowledge of government security policies and general vulnerabilities management.
Must be familiar with source and artifact control, configuration and knowledge management.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively including mentoring junior staff .
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
U.S. Citizen or Green card is required for the position.
Candidate must successfully pass a Federal Background Investigation.
