The Business Manager will serve in an integral leadership role to ensure success, managing operations for our fast-paced, multi-doctor veterinary care facility. This is a salaried position; salary will be commensurate with experience.
Qualifications:
Business management experience in the healthcare field is required, preferably in the Veterinary field. A Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with management experience are preferred but others with other strong management experience, especially in the health care field, will be considered.
Must be able to mentor and guide the clinic’s veterinary assistants
Excellent interpersonal, listening, and written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management skills, ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks
Strong attention to detail and an eye for accuracy
A highly motivated self-starter who can work independently
An optimistic, can-do attitude to foster team building and a positive work environment
Duties:
With Owner, manages overall financial goals and health of the clinic
Manages IT and communications, software and software vendors, computer equipment
Ensures State and local compliance (paperwork, licensure)
Manages and reports on cash flow
Pays all bills due for the business
Runs monthly and quarterly accounting reports with Accountant to develop tax strategy and spending plan
Manages purchasing of non-medical supplies and equipment including sourcing of needed items and budgeting for upcoming needs
Handles HR issues with office manager
Strong leadership skills
Manages all insurance for the business including liability, umbrella, workers compensation
Writes and compiles policy as needed including employee handbook and procedures
With other managers and Owner, helps decide policy changes as needed
Handles all vendor inquiries – is point of contact for all distribution representatives
Manages any distribution issues (wrong orders, returns, etc)
Manages inventory and equipment with patient care manager including maintenance and repairs, inventory spot checks, and reordering
Submits and pays sales tax
Updates annual pricing/price adjustments
Manages clinic patient medical record/veterinary software for access and permissions for all employees
Enters corrected inventory counts based on physical inventory twice annually
Is responsible for all social media – manages social media staff, posts, and sets overall strategy for social media engagement at direction of owner
Sources hard to find or specialty mediation and equipment as needed
Manages CE resources for staff: online, provided by vendors, or conferences (including all travel arrangements)
Brings ideas for revenue producing services and products to the doctors and managers for evaluation
Other duties as assigned
