Practice Support Lawyer – Litigation & Dispute Resolution

Compensation: $200,000 - $300,000 per year
Direct Counsel is representing an Am Law 100 firm seeking a Practice Support Lawyer (PSL) to support its Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice group. The PSL will contribute to knowledge management (KM), innovation, generative AI implementation, professional development, client support, and legal practice improvement initiatives across the firm’s U.S. offices.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain legal precedents, knowledge assets, and KM systems for the Litigation practice area.
Support integration of generative AI tools and data strategies into litigation workflows.
Collaborate with partners, associates, and allied professionals to identify legal tech, innovation, and process improvement opportunities.
Draft and review guidance materials, training documents, client pitches, RFP responses, legal updates, and checklists.
Maintain compliance with firmwide KM standards and data governance protocols.
Assist in the development and delivery of practice-specific CLEs and internal trainings.
Advise on the visual communication of legal advice and contribute to document automation projects.
Provide research and training support in coordination with the Office of General Counsel.
Engage in design thinking initiatives such as legal design sprints and hackathons.
Participate in firmwide PSL and Practice Innovation meetings and contribute to global projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.
Admission to a U.S. state bar and in good standing.
At least 5 years of post-admission legal experience, including prior work in private practice.
Deep understanding of litigation practice and a strong interest in legal innovation.
Experience in KM, legal technology, or change management preferred—or willingness to develop expertise.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong skills in legal drafting, process improvement, training facilitation, and knowledge sharing.
Self-directed with the ability to manage time and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with sensitivity to cultural and diversity considerations.
Interest in generative AI and emerging legal technologies.
