Title: Client Relationship Specialist
Type: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt, In-Office, NOT- REMOTE
Pay Range: $55,000-$65,000 yearly total compensation including bonuses
About Us:
Yrefy is a private student loan refinance company, specializing in assisting borrowers and co-borrowers in relieving the burden of student loans, through a refinance. If you are passionate about helping individuals and thrive in a growing environment, we invite you to consider joining our team!
The Client Relationship Specialist is a trust critical role responsible for guiding prospective borrowers through the final decision stage before loan closing. This position exists to ensure clients fully understand their obligations, expectations, and long term implications of refinancing before committing—thereby improving loan quality, reducing post closing dissatisfaction, and strengthening long term relationships.
Unlike traditional retention or sales roles, this position is education first and validation driven, not persuasion based. The Specialist acts as a final alignment checkpoint, confirming that the solution is appropriate, sustainable, and clearly understood. ** **
Yrefy has built a Better Way to Help Clients — Without Pressure or Rebuttals
If you've worked in debt relief or financial retention, you already have the hardest skills to find: empathy, clarity, and calm under pressure. If you've spent your career:
• Talking to clients who are stressed, frustrated, or on the verge of canceling
• De escalating emotional calls and being measured on whether someone stays
• Using rebuttals and persuasion—even when you know the program might not be the right fit
…consider your next chapter… At Yrefy, those skills are used before clients are upset.
At Yrefy, we believe the best retention happens before regret ever occurs. This is where experienced retention professionals come to use their skills—without compromising their values.
This is not a cancellation prevention role. You won't be convincing someone to stay in something they no longer believe in. Instead, you'll:
• Work with approved borrowers before they commit
• Ensure they truly understand their loan, obligations, and options
• Confirm alignment before closing, so issues don't surface later
Your success comes from clarity and trust, not persuasion. **
Who This Role Is Perfect For**
• Client Loyalty / Retention Specialists ready to step away from persuasion
• Debt relief, collections, or financial services professionals seeking more purpose
• High performing communicators who care about outcomes—not quotas
• Anyone who wants to help people before things go wrong, not after **
What You'll Actually Do**
• Lead pre closing conversations with approved borrowers and co borrowers
• Clearly explain:
o Loan structure and repayment expectations
o Program benefits and limitations
o Long term implications—without pressure or spin
• Use active listening to identify:
o Confusion
o Hesitation
o Unrealistic expectations
• Encourage questions—and even pauses—if refinancing isn't the right move
• Partner cross functionally with underwriting, processing, and servicing teams
• Document conversations accurately in the CRM
If a borrower isn't ready or isn't aligned, you're empowered to say so.
The difference is how it feels:
• Fewer emotionally combative calls
• More thoughtful, human conversations
• No convincing someone to stay against their instincts **
How You're Measured (This Is the Game Changer)
You are not measured on**:
• Same day closes
• Retention percentage
• Talk time or rebuttal success
• Commission pressure
You ARE measured on:
• Client understanding and confidence
• Post close satisfaction (30/90/180 days)
• Fewer early servicing escalations
• Strong long term loan performance
In short: quality over volume. Always. **
Retention and loyalty specialists succeed here because they already have:**
• Exceptional de escalation and listening skills
• Emotional intelligence and empathy
• The ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly
• A client first mindset **
