Pre-Op Medical Assistant – Interquest, Colorado Springs Mountain View Pain Center
Position Summary Mountain View Pain Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pre-Op Medical Assistant to join our Interquest, Colorado Springs team. This position plays a vital role in preparing and supporting patients before and after interventional pain management procedures. The Pre-Op Medical Assistant works closely with physicians and clinical staff to ensure patient safety, comfort, and compliance with all clinical protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Room patients in pre- and post-operative areas
Prepare charts and documentation for patients receiving injections and procedures
Obtain and record patient vitals, consent information, and clinical history
Perform clinical tasks including blood glucose testing, starting IVs, administering fluids, and drawing blood
Monitor and document patient responses during and after procedures
Provide clear post-procedure education and confirm patient understanding
Enter all required clinical data into the EMR system per pain management protocols
Complete checklists related to blood thinners, antibiotics, and procedural requirements
Maintain a clean, stocked, and compliant procedure area
Make reminder calls to patients for next-day appointments
Return patient voicemails and address FAQs regarding procedures
Collaborate with APPs and medical staff on clinical questions and care coordination
Assist with rooming new patients as needed
Perform other duties within scope of practice as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Completion of an accredited/approved Medical Assistant program; or completion of a non-approved program with passage of the CMA exam through AAMA or AMT
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / First Aid Certification (required)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (must be obtained upon hire)
Excellent communication and patient service skills
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and critical thinking
Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment
Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional standards
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Schedule & Location
Full-time, Monday–Friday (no weekends)
On-site at our Colorado Springs clinic
Pay Range: $21.00-$23.00
