MSP TECH
We are a Managed IT Service Provider or MSP in business since 2003.
We are the IT Department for many local SMBs.
We need someone who is experienced working with many different customers to resolve many different technical issues. You have to be part techie and part human. Sort of a hybrid.
This is a support position in our office, helping our customers. The work will mostly be project based (server migrations, Office 365 migrations, onboarding new clients), but also some Tier 2/3 support.
We have a fun team. We laugh and joke and we are ALWAYS learning new techie things!
SERVICES WE PROVIDE:
- Help desk/remote support
- Onsite support
- Network troubleshooting
- Server installs
- Virtual Server Administration
- MS Office 365 Migrations
- VPN/Firewall Support
- Onsite and Offsite Backup Management
- Monitoring
- Managed Security Services: AV, Network Security, Firewall, Mail Filtering, Dark Web Monitoring, etc.
- And anything else the IT Department would need to do in a small business
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- One year using a PSA Tool
- One year using an RMM Tool
- Good interpersonal skills. We work with a lot of different customers. Sometime they are happy to see you. Sometimes they aren't. You may, from time to time, have to talk one off the ledge. It's just part of customer service. But... the better we do... the smoother things are for the customer.
- Good communications skills both verbal and written. You must be able to relay pertinent technical details by phone when communicating with other techs. You also must be able to document IP addresses, passwords, store device configs, etc. in such a way that those that come behind you can use the information. We use IT Glue for documentation.
- SOLID understanding of DNS and DHCP
- STRONG ability to diagnose network connectivity issues. (THIS SEEMS TO SEPARATE THE MEN FROM THE BOYS RIGHT HERE)
- Active Directory, Folder/File Permissions, Security Groups
- Microsoft Outlook and experience using it with Office 365
- Office 365 Administration
- Hardware diagnosis
- Firewall/router config
- Virtual Server Management on VM Ware or Hyper-V
- Server RAID Configs
