Data Science Intern 2021 Job Description:
Based in Palo Alto, California, Prealize Health is a predictive analytics company that leverages machine learning and clinical expertise to help patients obtain better care, sooner. Most of healthcare today is very reactive – with care being delivered when someone is already ill. We are seeking a Data Science Intern to join our team this summer. You will work closely with other
data scientists, product managers and clients to help develop data-driven products that will directly
affect patient lives. Your contribution in data modeling and machine learning applications will be crucial
to our mission and the success of the company.
As a Data Science Intern you will:
Develop and apply methods in machine learning, deep learning and statistics to expand and improve our product offerings
Work closely with our clients to understand their needs and translate them into ML- powered solutions that identify and prevent any type of bias
Work with our product team to ensure we create the highest value products possible for our partners
Work with our engineering team to enhance the quality, robustness, and extensibility of our platform for millions of patients
Work with our advisors and keep up to date on relevant literature to ensure we use the best approaches available
Document and present your work to the team

Qualifications:
• Pursuing a degree in computer science, math, statistics, biostatistics, bioengineering or
any related field
• Fluent in Python, R, or similar programming language
• Experience working with machine learning regression and classification approaches
(random forests, neural networks, etc.)
• Familiar with software development tools, like version control
• Experience working on interdisciplinary, collaborative projects
• Ability to research and come up with strategies to solve novel challenges
• Excellent communication skills
Nice to Have but Not Required:
Experience in deep learning
Experience in the healthcare domain, including healthcare finance
