The Engineer 2, Manufacturing provides a range of expertise in supporting and improving the manufacturing capabilities to produce the piezoelectric sensor product line. Contributes to improving a range of fabrication processes that can directly impact the sustaining and growth efforts of operations. Participates in the introduction of new products to the manufacturing and supply chain environment. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, this is a hand-on engineering position supporting the full product life cycle from new product development to mature production programs. This position supports the piezoelectric accelerometer product line, piezoelectric materials and glass to metal seals.
Job Core Responsibilities
· Provides significant expertise in developing a range of engineering solutions to improve the manufacture of new and existing Parker Meggitt products
· Improves current production processes to manufacture products, using applicable methods and procedures
· Transfers new products into production from a “design for manufacturability” approach
· Participates in developing and maintaining documentation for processes and designs. Must have strong writing skills and the ability to describe processes and assembly techniques.
· Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
· Solves problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgment and precedents
· Collaborate with the production team to identify capabilities, capacity and areas in need of improvement
· Diagnose and solve manufacturing process and equipment issues using root cause analysis. Experience with test equipment in particular vibration measurements.
· Assist with the training of production operators
· Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
· Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary to support production
· Experience with UPPAP: design risk analysis, process flow diagram, PFMEA, Process Control Plan and Process Readiness Studies.
· Participate in product design reviews
Job Specifications
Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering or related technical field; Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
Years’ Experience: 3 - 5 years of relevant experience **
