The intern position will provide assistance with project work and other administrative tasks for the networking group. These tasks can include some technical work such as creating scripts, installing and configuring software, and testing software configurations on both Windows and/or Linux systems. Other tasks would include creating limited technical documentation and researching technical issues.

    • Review configuration standards and identify those systems outside of current standard.
    • Basic troubleshooting of network related OS settings.
    • Understanding of computer programming and scripting languages.
    • Basic understanding of common IT terms and concepts such as CPU, memory, storage, network protocols, servers, routers, switches, cloud, and database.
    • Interoperability of network with other department functions such as infrastructure and applications.

    Education:

    Currently engaged in receiving or have an Associates/Bachelor’s Degree in Networking, Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience: Required

     

    Computer/Organization Skills:

    • Knowledge of Networking protocols, Telephony protocols and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Restful API’s).

    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, tracking status and communicating with multiple team members.

    • Strong written skills for technical and non-technical documents.

    • Process Oriented/re-engineering skills.

    • Strong problem solving/issue resolution skills. 

    • Self-motivated, detail oriented, and sense of ownership.

    • Strong interpersonal and coordination/team building skills.

    • Manufacturing industry experience a plus.

    • Systems thinking - the ability to see how parts interact with the whole (big picture thinking)

    • Time management and prioritization

     

    Other Requirements:

    Candidate should possess strong organizational skills, be detail oriented, and self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to proactively address business needs in innovative ways. Strong sense of urgency and strong commitment to quality.
