JOB TITLE: Sales & Service Technician, Residential LOCATION: _Maumelle, Arkansas

GENERAL PURPOSE: Serves as the sales and service technician for residential garage doors, garage door openers, and related components. Provides multiple alternative recommendations for repair and replacement of necessary parts for garage doors. Sells appropriate services or replacement options. Interacts with customers on a daily basis providing them with excellent customer service.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED; some college preferred; supplemented by proven sales experience closing deals directly with customers and dealing with customer complaints; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services to include marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems

Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

Skill in giving engaging and effective sales presentations

Skill in selecting and using appropriate training/instructional methods and procedures when learning or teaching new things

Ability to provide excellent customer service by assessing customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluating customer satisfaction

Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and not interrupt at inappropriate times

Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

Ability to use an assortment of mechanical tools and devices

Ability to identify and repair specific brands of doors, openers, keyless entry systems, and related components

Ability to safely drive a pick-up truck during the day, at night, and in inclement weather conditions

Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

Ability to follow complex instructions and communicate effectively orally and in writing

Ability to organize work for timely completion

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work and may require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of heavy objects or materials (up to 75 pounds). Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment. Must be able to climb and work off of a 12’ high stepladder.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks are regularly performed inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature, and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles, vibrations, electric currents, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, gases or chemicals, oils and other cutting fluids, violence and/or disease, or pathogenic substances.

SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks require sound, visual, and depth perception and discrimination. Tasks require oral communications ability.
