    The Sr. Manager will serve a dual role between Strategic Pricing & Government Accounts. This person will support the Director of Market Access in the development, implementation, and analysis of Pricing and contracting strategies across all customer segments including Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, VA/DOD & 340B. In addition, this person will assist in the development of all pricing strategies & activities providing the related pricing analysis and support for all products

    Job Responsibilities:

    Strategic Pricing & Contracting:

    • Develop in conjunction with the Market Access Account team, the payer contract strategies & data requirements for both current and future products.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of all Commercial and Government contracts for all products.
    • Design and develop tools for pricing recommendations as well as contract proposal evaluation.
    • Provide strategic and analytical support for both list and net price strategies across all market access customer segments.
    • Serve as liaison with customers and internal teams (Legal, Market Access, Sales, and Finance) in creating, executing, and managing pricing strategies & contracts.
    • Create contract performance reporting in order to monitor and assess customer contracts.

    Government Accounts:

    Develop and maintain business relationships with all government customers including but not limited to:

    • Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
    • Department of Defense (DOD).
    • Medicaid Pharmacy Benefit Management companies.
    • Magellan Medicaid, Change Health, Conduent Health.
    • 340B Accounts and covered entities (e.g. Clinics).
    • Lead contractual negotiations and conduct regular business updates with stakeholders on all Government targeted accounts.
    • Attend a variety of government account-related conferences & training seminars in order to meet with customers and stay up to date on the latest changes/updates in the government sector.
    • Evaluate, execute, and maintain Federal contractual agreements-Federal Supply Schedule, Tricare/DOD & 340B.
    • Oversees the calculation, review, and reporting of statutory government price calculations including Medicaid, Medicare, PHS/340B, VA/DOD pricing, and any other government pricing metrics that may be required.
    • Oversee the chargebacks for Medicare, commercial, VA, DOD, and PHS.

    National and Regional Accounts:

    • Lead all managed markets activities within assigned government accounts.

    • Strong analytical ability using Excel to create modeling scenarios.
    • Able to effectively manage competing priorities with a strong sense of urgency.
    • Able to act as an articulate advocate for the market access team.
    • Creative/innovative thinker with an understanding of the legal/regulatory environment.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

     

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    • Leadership Responsibilities will include providing direction and education to key internal stakeholders & Sales Teams as it relates to Pricing & Contract Strategies (all segments), Government Accounts, and pull-through activities for their respective teams.

    Education and Qualifications:

    • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
    • 5+ years of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical experience with 5 years of account management experience, Pricing & Contracts experience, or other Market Access experience is preferred.
    • Previous Management experience is preferred.
    • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical space.
    • Experience working in market access channels with large National Payers, regional health plans, state and local governments, PBMs, SPPs, ACO is preferred.
    • Prior experience with director and senior-level health plan executives within the government sector and assigned geographical area is preferred.
    • Potential candidates must have a solid understanding of key government policy infrastructure, public and private Payor policy infrastructure, payment methodologies, coverage, health policy trends, and current business challenges.
