    Our client, in the Life Sciences/Biotechnology industry, is seeking a Senior Accountant.

    Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Business Operations, the Senior Accountant will be a collaborator who communicates in an open, clear, timely, and consistent manner who listens effectively, and invites response and discussion. He/She will play a key role in the organization while contributing to the day-to-day operations of the finance team. This position will be based in Boston, MA.

    Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

     

    • Oversee and drive all day-to-day accounting functions: accounts payable, cash reconciliation, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for various accounting areas
    • Responsible for wire and ACH batch preparation, and reconciliation of monthly corporate credit card and expense reporting review.
    • Own the month, quarter, and year-end close process to meet closing deadlines while identifying and implementing process improvements.
    • Actively support quarterly investor reporting and annual audit with external auditors.
    • Collaborate and support VP, Finance & Business Operations in providing accounting support to the business, and continuous improvement of internal systems, responsible for the quality control and organization of various queries and reports.
    • Assist VP, Finance & Business Operations with revising forecasts & annual budgets.
    • Participate in or lead ad-hoc and special projects as assigned.

       

      Requirements: Proven Experience, Skills, and Education:

       

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA strongly preferred.
    • CPA is strongly preferred.
    • Expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite, high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Direct experience with SAGE Intacct and QuickBooks.
    • Initiative-taker and strong team player, can work independently, demonstrated record of success in managing and completing projects timely and accurately.
    • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing, open-minded, and able to collaborate with people from different backgrounds, demonstrated record of being a good collaborator.
    • Good listener, ability to resolve conflicts effectively and elevate issues when necessary.
    • Adapt to changes in the work environment as the company scales; able to manage competing demands and prioritize deliveries appropriately.
    • Experience with scaling up a company and process as it grows is strongly preferred.
