The Marine Diesel Mechanic is directly responsible to the Lead Maintenance for the proper operation and maintenance of all Marine Mechanical Equipment on the vessel, tow, all engine room tools, equipment. The Diesel Mechanic will coordinate with the office to order any supplies/repairable parts needed in a timely manner to ensure that problems are corrected quickly. The Captain and Lead Mechanic will be informed of any request for supplies/parts that are required for the vessel. The Mechanic will complete any required repairs to equipment on the vessel or tow. The Diesel Mechanic MUST have knowledge of Detroit, Cummings, and Caterpillar engines.
Additional Responsibilities:
maintain all work orders/reports for any work completed by Inland Marine mechanics or outside companies and forward the paperwork to the office
maintain the engine and equipment hours to ensure that required maintenance is completed
Requirements:
-Marine Mechanical Experience (1-2 years )
-MUST OWN TOOLS
-TWIC
-Must pass Drug Testing and reference check requirements upon hire.
