Job Summary:
Perform tasks involving physical labor at heavy construction projects. Construct, fabricate, erect and disassemble concrete form work of fixtures of metal, wood, and other accessories. The perfect candidate will be familiar with footing and foundations for large commercial buildings, sound barrier walls, dividers, slabs, columns, bridge decks, and bent cups.
Essential Duties:
Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations, training, and safety handbooks.
Properly follow OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent or Safety Facilitator.
Build structures required to the specifications of the job. Platforms, stairs, concrete forms, framework, temporary frame shelters, etc.
Examine drawings, sketches, building plans and form drawings to determine material required and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated.
Use carpentry hand tools such as levels, squares, plumb bobs, hammers, hand and power saws, adjustable wrenches, drill motors, reciprocating saws, pry bars, etc. Supply of non-electric/pneumatic hand tools is required.
Prepare layout of form or fixture to be fabricated using grades and layout lines. Construct forms, chutes and align form panels for pouring concrete and grout.
Install temporary handrails, stairs, and ladders. Erect and dismantle scaffolding.
Ability to tie/manipulate rebar.

Qualifications:
Must be local to the area
3-5 years’ experience in concrete or bridge carpentry, marine construction is a plus
Must have own tools
Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and local and national building codes to determine proper dimensions
Ability to solve mathematical problems to properly measure for the amount of materials needed
Valid Driver’s License with own transportation
Knowledge of the proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy construction work
Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
Able to travel and work overtime (may include nights and weekends)
Must be at least 18 years of age, pass drug screen and background check
Work Conditions:
• Construction site with mobile construction equipment.
• Outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, humidity and exposure to building materials and dust.
