Preconstruction Manager – Commercial Construction | Winston-Salem, NC

We are partnered with a growing, well-respected commercial general contracting firm to find a Preconstruction Manager for their Winston-Salem, NC market. This is a hands-on role for someone who can own both the numbers and the client relationship — not a desk role managing others, but a doer who thrives at the intersection of estimating, client engagement, and project planning.

What You'll Be Working On

This firm delivers complex institutional and civic commercial projects including Medical/Healthcare facilities, Higher Education campuses, and K-12 schools. They work primarily through Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) and Design-Build delivery models — understanding both is important in this role.

What You'll Need to Be Considered

• Experience in both estimating AND field/operations — hybrid background strongly preferred
• Ability to own client-facing deliverables including GMP proposals, value engineering presentations, and scope reviews
• Strong working knowledge of CMAR and Design-Build procurement and delivery
• Experience partnering closely with operations teams through the full preconstruction phase
• Commercial project experience — Medical, Higher Ed, and K-12 backgrounds are a strong plus
• Stable career history — this team values tenure and long-term commitment; frequent job changes are a disqualifier
• A genuine need or desire to be based in the Winston-Salem, NC area
