Reliable Companion Aides Needed!!

PREFERRED CARE AT HOME is a national home care company.  We are looking for experienced people to care for our clients in a reliable, professional and compassionate manner. Caregiving is often a demanding job and you will need to have a flexible schedule, a reliable means of transportation and be willing to work weekends, evenings and nights depending on what our clients need. Caregiving can also be very gratifying. People who are ill, injured, disabled or elderly are always thankful for caring people who provide exceptional support.

We support clients who live in the following areas: Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk and Virginia Beach.

Due to COVID-19 and the requirements that we must follow, seniors and the disabled need your help more than ever.

We are seeking employees who want to make a difference in the lives of seniors and the disabled in our commmunity by stepping up to help us help them.

The ideal candidate will be dependable and courteous with OUTSTANDING COMMUNICATION SKILLS as well as a CLEAN DRIVING RECORD. You should be able to FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS and perform a variety of tasks to help clients.

Typical Caregiver Responsibilities

• Remind clients to take medication

• Assist clients with transportation (doctor's appointments, errands, social engagements, etc.)

• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)

• Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop

• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own

• Be a pleasant and supportive companion

• Report any unusual incidents

• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Caregiver Requirements

• Proven experience as a caregiver

• Ability to transport clients (in their car or yours)

• Knowledge of emergency response (when to call 911)

• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints

• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards

• Respectful and compassionate

• Good time management skills

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong ethics

• Physical endurance

• High school diploma or equivalent
