    Roles & Responsibilities:

We're looking for an inspired premed mentor who can devote 4-6 hours/week to helping the current generation of college students become the next generation of doctors. All work is remote.

Weekly duties are proportional to the number of students you support. For one student, the position includes 1 hour of advising, 1 hour of pre-call prep, 1 hour of post-call follow up. Expect anywhere from 2.5 - 5 hours of weekly investment per student. In addition, mentors will attend a 30 minute group meeting to review the previous week's calls.

We ask that mentors take on a minimum of 2 mentees at a time, meeting weekly 4-8 weeks at a time concurrently with classes.

The major responsibilities include the following:

    • Preparing a proactive agenda for the premed's upcoming week & quarter
    • Leading a “reverse-classroom” styled hour of advising with the mentee
    • Assigning tasks to be completed on a specific time and date
    • Serving as the mentee's accountability partner, following up through the week
    • Troubleshooting any obstacles that arise with mentee's assigned tasks
    • Act as a future-physician role model
    • Enable mentees' ambitions to fulfill diverse leadership roles to positively impact society

    Mission Statement & Values:

We believe the road to becoming a doctor is twisted, backwards, and discouraging. We help premeds become doctors - without needing one in the process. We value intentionality, proactivity & dedication to hospitality.

Selfishly, we know these students are the same people who will take care of our loved ones and us - and we want our own mothers to have the best care. Selflessly, we know just how much getting into medical school changed our lives and the lives of our families. That joy is contagious, addicting, and electric - we want to share that experience with as many people as we can.

The ideal mentor will be someone who resonates with our mission statement & values. Someone who goes the extra mile to put themselves in the shoes of their mentees, who listens eagerly to what makes the mentee feel alive, and who will be in the trenches with their mentees through the toughest parts of the road ahead.

    Experience Required:

The medical school admissions process is simple. It's not easy, by any means, but knowing WHAT to do is straightforward. We're looking for resourceful, organized and trustworthy advisors who take their mentees' doctor dreams as seriously as they would their own. No formal experience is required, but preference will be given to candidates who have successfully earned admission to medical school or have formal teaching/pedagogy training
