    SUMMARY

    Premier Swim Academy is seeking an experienced early childhood development professional to join our team as an Infant and Child Aquatic Specialist. Our Parent and Me program teaches students ages 0-4 years focusing on developing child development milestones alongside learn-to-swim activities. The ideal candidate will have extensive previous experience working with young children and have some child development experience in education.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Create an educational, safe, and inviting experience for all participants.
    • Teach the Parent and Me program as prescribed by the curriculum.
    • Responsible for the safety of all program participants in group lessons, private lessons, and patrons on deck.
    • Effectively communicates information promptly to the supervisor.
    • Maintains a high level of customer service to customers.
    • Ensures that all rules and appropriate safety measures are stated, communicated, and carried out by all participants.
    • Maintains positive and supportive relationships with all facility employees, guests, and supervisors to facilitate the accomplishment of Premier's goals.
    • Maintains a high level of cleanliness and order for the Swim Complex by using staff resources and working closely with facility maintenance crews.
    • Attend quarterly in-service training programs.
    • Follows Premier dress code and code of conduct as stated in the Premier Employee handbook.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum

    • 2+ years' experience in child development programs or related fields
    • 4+ years' experience working with children ages 0-4 years of age
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a StarGuard Elite Basic Life Support certification
    • Weekday morning and/or weekend availability

    Preferred

    • Previous experience with children with disabilities or adaptive learning needs
    • Previous Aquatics Experience
    • Associate and/or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Child Psychology
    • StarGuard Elite Lifeguard certification

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, stoop, and crouch. The employee is frequently required to use their hands to feel, reach, and type. The employee is also required to swim, teach an average of 15 hours per week, and demonstrate teaching skills.

    The employee may occasionally lift and/or move equipment or a small or average size child up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. The environment also involves working in and around the pool which has a warm and humid atmosphere, and requires following specified safety precautions.
