    We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Associate Therapist to join our team. This role will take place in Newport Beach, in-office. As an Associate Therapist specializing in individual and group therapy, you will be responsible for evaluating and diagnosing mental health disorders, determining appropriate treatment plans, and utilizing therapeutic interventions. Your expertise in conducting biopsychosocial assessments, creating comprehensive treatment plans, and engaging with clients in both individual and group therapy sessions will help inform the development and implementation of best-practice strategies to improve the well-being of our clients.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct 50-minute individual therapy sessions a minimum of once per week per client.
    • Plan, create, and facilitate group therapy sessions 3 times per week.
    • Diagnose Mental Health Conditions: Utilize your expertise in diagnostic criteria and classification systems (e.g., DSM-5) to accurately diagnose mental health disorders based on the information gathered during assessments.
    • Develop Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to develop and document personalized treatment plans based on their needs and goals in therapy. Provide clear and comprehensive recommendations for therapeutic interventions and goals, taking into account the client's unique circumstances.
    • Maintain Accurate Documentation: Document all sessions including the biopsychosocial assessment, treatment plans, interventions, and progress notes in a timely and accurate manner. Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines regarding client confidentiality and record keeping.
    • Perform Clinical Assessments: Conduct in-depth clinical assessments of individuals seeking mental health services, utilizing a variety of assessment tools and techniques. Assessments may include interviews, questionnaires, and behavioral observations. Assessments are required for multiple Premier Health Group treatment centers.
    • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and counselors, to provide comprehensive care to clients. Consult and participate in case conferences or treatment planning meetings to ensure integrated and coordinated services.
    • Stay Updated on Research and Best Practices: Stay abreast of current research, advancements, and best practices in the mental health field, specifically regarding therapeutic services. Engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance your knowledge and skills.

    Requirements:

    • AMFT, APPC, ASCW, or equivalent with 500+ hours towards licensure.
    • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Clinical Therapist (e.g., Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker).
    • Proven experience in conducting biopsychosocial assessments and diagnosing mental health conditions.
    • Past experience providing therapeutic services.
    • Strong knowledge of diagnostic classification systems and criteria found in the DSM-5.
    • Knowledge and experience writing comprehensive progress notes using SOAP and GIRP framework, to meet insurance requirements.
    • Expertise in various therapeutic modalities and evidence-based interventions.
    • Crisis intervention experience.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with diverse individuals.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to gather and interpret assessment data effectively.
    • Ability to be a self-starter and work directly with clients without consistent supervision.
    • Ethical practice and adherence to professional standards of conduct; knowledge of laws specific to working with children.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Proficient computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.

    Expected hours: 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM (40 hours per week)
