    JOB DESCRIPTION

    We are seeking a proven Operations Manager who is passionate about customer service and last mile delivery. Our Operations Manager must have a proficient background in the last mile field, with the abilities to oversee all delivery activity for a fast-growing company. The Manager will work closely with the senior leadership team and report directly to the CEO. We are an energetic company looking for a passionate individual to join our team.

    Responsibilities

    Oversee accurate and efficient loading of all vehicles for the delivery of retail home products to the end customer (last mile)

    Ensure service providers are protecting all merchandise

    Ensure service providers are securing all merchandise when loading

    Strictly enforce uniform and on-time expectations

    Document damages, missing items or discrepancies which take place at load out

    Create processes for the following: Cargo claims; Property claims; Service Requests

    Ensure carrier, driver and helper compliance records are in accordance with company policies

    Establish morning, mid-day and evening recap templates

    Measuring driver completion

    Assume daily routing responsibility while sending confirmation calls

    Monitor and relay on-time percentages, damage percentages and completion percentages all throughout the work day.

    Ensure high levels of service, completion and on-time deliveries

    Communicate daily and weekly performance

    Monitor weekly reports to ensure financial goals are being met

    Coordinate with customer service to ensure that all customers are satisfied

    Conduct ride behind evaluation of contractors to determine skill levels and development opportunities

    Ensure all service providers are operating in compliance with DOT and OSHA requirements

    Ensures all claims are charged back to the appropriate contract carrier

    Train and oversee local staff members

    Requirements

    · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience

    · 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience in the Last Mile, independent carrier business model

    · Experience with Microsoft Office and proficient in Excel

    · Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends

    · Lean, Six Sigma and Constant Process Improvement knowledge and experience

    · Experience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL)

    · Solid understanding maintaining a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing safety procedures across all departments

    · Strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills

    · Entails standing, sitting or walking for lengthy periods of time

    · Ability to work and perform in office and warehouse environments
