    Looking for a Regional Director, Business Development (RDBD) to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. Position is for the California area. 

    Company is a global organization with a proprietary platform connecting pharma, biotech, and medical device teams in real-time to distinguished experts. These connections and more importantly the qualitative insights garnered are used by the life sciences industry teams (e.g. medical affairs, marketing, market research, clinical research, etc.) to inform their business decisions and strategic plans.

    The RDBD is primarily responsible for securing sales with new regional business targets . The position, reporting to the SVP, Strategic Business Development, also contributes to the development of the BD strategy and plan, and execution of the that plan.

    This is an opportunity to develop a large sphere of influence within a small team growing at a rapid pace. The position will play a key role in identifying leads and converting qualified prospects to generate revenue for the organization via new regional clients and therapeutic areas.

    The RDBD is to have a demonstrated knowledge of the Commercial, Market Research and Medical Affairs line functions within pharmaceutical and biotech organizations, and an understanding of the traditional tools and resources available to support their short and long-term business plans as well as where digital platforms can offer strategic advantage.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Proactively engages, builds, and maintains a network of sources from which to identify, qualify and convert new sales leads.

    • Meets sales and activity targets for this position. Maintains CRM and detailed reports of sales activities including calls, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.

    • Provides periodic sales forecasts.

    • Participation in and successful completion of formal background and reference checks

    • Must have demonstrated knowledge of the Commercial, Market Research and Medical Affairs line functions within pharmaceutical and biotech organizations, as well as where digital platforms can offer strategic advantage.

    • Must possess account knowledge, decision maker-level client contacts and industry related relationships inside defined geographic region

    • Must have proven track record consistently exceeding sales targets and developing new business relationships with senior management client contacts

    • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

    • Ability to travel as required

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) programs, web-based conference and related software Education

    Experience: • Bachelor of Science or Arts degree required; advanced degree a plus

    • 10+ years work experience, including proven sales record within a pharma or healthcare agency or solution provider; internal pharmaceutical, biotech and device company experience a plus.

    • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive

    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
