Our mortgage processing company is expanding and we are seeking an experienced mortgage underwriter to join our growing team. You’ll be responsible for reviewing all loans before submission and acting as an underwriting resource for the rest of our entry-level processing team. Responsibilities: Inquire about any additional information that is needed to determine loan risk Conduct a thorough search of clients’ financial and employment history to ensure accuracy of application and documents • Review all loans and supporting documents to ensure all necessary information is included prior to submission • Document in detail reasons for sending loans back to processing team for further review • Review of conditions, meet file turn time standard of 95% • Maintain quality of loan package with an error rate of 5% or less • Maintain efficient file flow and desk management Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field 2+ years of mortgage underwriting experience or mortgage lending experience is required Familiarity with home loans and residential mortgages such as FHA, USDA, VA, conventional loan guidelines, and loan products Proficient in Microsoft office and automated underwriting systems • Must understand and comprehend the Mortgage Loan process • Strong time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. • Must have two to four years related experience or equivalent. • Must have a high level of proficiency with mortgage loan processing and underwriting systems. • Must have commitment to excellence and high standards. • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. • Must be versatile, flexible and willing to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. • Must have an acute attention to detail. • Must have proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. • Must have good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. • Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions. • Must be able to build and sustain relationships with staff and branch personnel. Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000
