    Premier Sports Medicine of Georgia is looking for the next leading Athletic Training Candidate for an Immediate Opening in the Metro Atlanta Area!!!

    Premier Sports Medicine is the “first name” in athletic training and sports medicine services. Our goals are to provide the most comprehensive, high-quality service, to expand the profession of athletic training in areas currently unserved and for Premier Sports Medicine to be considered a premier athletic training outreach company.

    Premier Sports Medicine of Georgia is hiring a full-time position for work at a secondary school. The position will consist of midday faculty work which transitions into afternoon and evening coverage for all school practices and games. There is potential for additional income by providing weekend event coverage within our youth sports and other sports club programs in the Atlanta area through our outreach program if so desired.

    POSITION TITLE:  Athletic Trainer

    REPORTS TO:  Athletic Director/PSM Area Supervisor

    SALARY:  Dependent on Experience

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    REQUIRED

    EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree

    CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Must be BOC certified and possess GA state athletic training licensure.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Applied Knowledge: Athletic trainers must have knowledge about a large range of medical problems. Assessment and evaluation skills and working with other healthcare professionals will be needed.
    • Decision-Making Skills: Ability to think critically and make independent decisions regarding the assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and return to play decisions per state licensure guidelines.
    • Attention to Detail: should be thorough and detailed with injury tracking and documentation.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in high stress/pressure situation when talking to patients, medical professionals, staff and families.
    • Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision.

    RECOMMENDED/PREFERRED

    EDUCATION: Master's Degree 

    SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop plans for providing athletic training coverage at all interscholastic athletic events identified in Athletic Training Program Coverage Policy.
    • Establish a working relationship with school faculty.
    • Assist the school administration during the second half of the school day by providing coverage  during lunch period as well as being onsite for any medical emergencies.
    • Maintain adequate medical records on all injuries and rehabilitation procedures.
    • Comply with any and all policies regarding health care delivery as indicated by the school systems regulations, and outlined in the Athletic Injury Management section of the school's athletic training program policies and procedures manual.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Work is medium demand. Applicant should be able to lift 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects. Medium strength is required to position patients for examination. May assist patients as needed, helping them on and off the exam table and/or bed. Applicant must be able to work in outdoor conditions.
