About the Role
Join the heart of the house at 5 Oceans Restaurant! As a Prep Cook, you are the foundation of our chef-driven kitchen. You will ensure our line is locked, loaded, and ready for a 90-seat service. We are looking for focused, reliable individuals who take pride in the "mise en place" philosophy and are eager to grow within our coastal hospitality culture.
Responsibilities
Precision Prep: Execute daily prep lists with speed and accuracy (chopping, portioning proteins, and preparing house-made sauces).
Quality Control: Ensure all ingredients meet 5 Oceans' freshness standards and are labeled/rotated according to Compliance (FIFO).
Station Support: Set up workstations for Line Cooks to ensure seamless execution during peak rushes.
Collaboration: Actively assist in kitchen cleanliness, dish rotation, and stock organization to support the whole team.
Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a spotless workspace and strictly adhere to Georgia food safety and health code standards.
Recipe Consistency: Follow exact specifications from the Head Chef/Sous Chef to ensure every guest receives a consistent "Coastal" experience.
Requirements
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a professional kitchen or high-volume food prep environment.
Legal: Must be 18+ years of age (required for operating slicers, mixers, and other heavy equipment).
Mandate Fit: A team-first attitude with zero tolerance for gossip and a high drive for Collaboration.
Skills: Strong knife skills and basic knowledge of kitchen math (scaling recipes).
Physical: Ability to stand for 6–8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs (crates/bags).
Reliability: Punctuality is critical; prep is the engine that starts our day.
