    Schedule: Full time and part time; Days and hours may vary. More details upon interview.

    Requirement: Catering Experience Required Speaks Fluent English & Spanish Preferred

    Pay Range: $17.00 per hour to $18.00 per hour.

We’re looking for a driven, skilled, and passionate individual to join our team as a Catering Lead / Prep Cook to help us execute high-quality events and prep meals with precision and efficiency.

    Position Summary:

    The Catering Lead / Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing a wide range of cuisines, leading catering setup and execution for events, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in the kitchen. This role demands strong culinary skills, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work independently while minimizing waste of both time and ingredients.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Prepare diverse dishes from multiple cuisines according to event menus and daily prep lists

    Lead catering event setup and breakdown, ensuring smooth execution and presentation

    Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure food is prepared accurately, on time, and meets Food Geeks standards

    Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary prep and cooking space

    Track inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed

    Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage

    Work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality

    Ensure minimal waste of ingredients and time during prep and event execution

    Requirements:

    Proven experience cooking a variety of cuisines in a fast-paced kitchen environment

    Strong catering experience, including setup, presentation, and service

    Ability to lead and work independently or as part of a team

    Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

    Serve Safe Manager Certification (required)

    Must be punctual, reliable, and professional

    Ability to lift 30+ lbs and stand for extended periods

    Flexible availability, including weekends and early mornings or evenings as needed for events

    Bonus Skills (Not Required but Preferred):

    Culinary degree or formal culinary training

    Experience with food costing and menu planning

    Familiarity with plant-based, gluten-free, or other dietary-specific cuisine

    Summary: Prepares food and serves customers in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Obtains daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef.

    Prepares items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes.

    Completes and follows daily production worksheets and waste log sheets. Tastes completed meals to ensure quality.

    Operates and cleans equipment per department procedures after each use.

    Stores, labels and dates all food items according to policy. Follows HACCP guidelines.

    Completes all required documentation, reports, logs as required.

    Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.

    Takes orders from customer and prepare items requiring short preparation time.

    Serves customers in an efficient and friendly manner.

    Completes orders from steam tables and grill and serves customers at multiple stations.

    Uses approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.

    Operates and cleans equipment per department procedures after each use.

    Stores, labels and dates all food items according to policy.

    Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.

    Resolves customer concerns.

    Performs other duties as assigned.
