Job Summary We are seeking a experienced expo/prep cook to join the team at our restaurant (Big Bad Wolf Smokehouse Grill) and catering business (Stage Left Catering). In this position, you will be responsible for using high-quality ingredients to prepare delicious meals for our customers. The ideal candidate is experienced and committed to creating an excellent experience for patrons. The restaurant is a standard menu with specials updated weekly, but the catering business allows for some diversity in the food and style of preparation you will experience day to day. The restaurant is day time hours only, closed Sunday and Monday. Catering hours can push into evening hours for prep and some evening on location services based upon your individual availability. Most holidays off and extended time off over Christmas and New Year. Pay is depending upon experience and can be reevaluated after 30 days.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up the kitchen with necessary tools and equipment
Prepare food and present it in an appealing manner
Maintain appropriate levels of inventory for service, update order board with low-inventory items, put away orders at delivery
Follow all food safety regulations
Participate in daily kitchen opening and closing procedures
Performs other duties as assigned by the head chef or management
Operating company vehicle as needed for catering deliveries or services
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role is required
Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques and commercial equipment operation
Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds
