    Prep Cook Job Description

    The Line Cook prepares ingredients, salads, sides, and desserts while maintaining a clean food prep area. This role serves as support for line cooks during service.

    Prep Cook Responsibilities

    • Keeping the kitchen clean and orderly
    • Ensuring all ingredients are in stock and ready for line cooks to prepare food
    • Seasoning and preparing the necessary ingredients for cooking
    • Preparing some dishes such as salads, sides, desserts or other less complex menu items Refilling ingredients as needed throughout shift
    • Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times
    • Follows recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, and grilling menu items as needed
    • Prepares foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting, trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish
    • Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment and must follow all company and regulatory rules and procedures.

    Prep Cook Skills and Qualifications

    ● At least one year of prep/cooking experience in a commercial kitchen ● Ability to work as part of a team ● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment ● Strong organization and active listening skills

    ● Exceptional time management skills and ability to multi-task ● Ability to obtain Food Safety Certification within 3 months of hire

    Prep Cook Physical Requirements and Other Requirements

    ● Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time ● Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 35 lbs ● Must be able to work nights and weekends
