    Prep Cook - Make a Difference Every Day

    The Prep Cook has the primary responsibility in assisting in the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of meals. This position oversees the kitchen crew members when the Culinary Manager is away, ensures the delivery of meals and supplies to ranch homes. The Prep Cook works with the Culinary Manager and the kitchen crew to ensure the timely checking in of all food deliveries for quality and quantity as well as the timely storage of all incoming food deliveries; organizing the walk-in coolers in a manner that ensures the availability of all needed supplies by the kitchen staff.

    Current shift opening: Wednesday thru Sunday - 40 hours

    Key Responsibilities

    Maintains professional standards and ensures a safe, clean, and hygienic kitchen environment in compliance with all sanitation and health regulations.

    Oversees timely meal service, proper food temperatures, accurate food storage, and organization of kitchen equipment and walk‑in coolers.

    Supervises, teaches, and coordinates Rancher/Resident helpers in cooking, cleaning, and serving procedures.

    Accurately records production/operation data, inspects supplies and equipment, and reports maintenance or replacement needs to the Culinary Manager.

    Supports food delivery processes, ensures proper handling and sanitation of all kitchen items, and upholds organizational policies and mission.

    Additional Information:

    This is a safety-sensitive position, requiring a high level of responsibility and awareness.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 to 3 years of related experience; or equivalent

    Demonstrated ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills

    Strong work ethic, reliable and responsible

    Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with staff, residents, and volunteers and in close quarters with others

    Ability to speak, read, and write in English

    Possess, or ability to acquire and maintain a Food Managers Card

    Ability to meet all clearance requirements, including:

    Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

    Background check

    Pre-employment physical

    Drug screening

    Reference check

    Verification of absence from the Arizona Adult Protective Services Registry

    CPR/First Aid certification (or be willing to obtain it).

    Demonstrate strong ethical standards and moral character, with sensitivity to the needs of our Residents/Ranchers.
