    PREP AND LINE COOK

    Overview of role:

    An experienced Line Cook to prepare food to the Bonton Farms Market’s menu specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line Cook duties will consist of assisting team members with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals. Bonton Farms is the largest urban farm in the United States with two locations and over 40-acres in production.

    Ideal Candidate Is:

    2-5 Years of Back of House experience (Line cook, prep cook, etc.)

    Someone who exhibits sound judgement with the ability to prioritize and make decisions.

    A team player that understands and embraces the culture of the organization

    Ability to be team oriented but also work independently

    Resourceful with a can-do attitude.

    Thrives in fast-paced environments and able to adjust to rapid changes.

    Detailed Responsibilities:

    Requirements:

    Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies

    Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)

    Medium level knife skills

    Produce preparation & storage knowledge

    Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff

    Follow Bonton Farms recipe instructions

    Stock inventory appropriately

    Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

    Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

    Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

    Great time management skills

    Ability to lift at least 15lbs

    Capable of standing and bending continuously for periods exceeding 5 hours

    Desired Qualifications:

    Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures

    Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks

    Familiar with industry’s best practices

    Demonstrates a solution-oriented mindset and adapts quickly to sudden operational changes and unplanned decisions
