Prepory is a premier college admissions counseling organization. Our innovative, holistic approach to college counseling is reshaping how studentsapply to college, find their "fit," and ultimately receive admission to their dream schools.
Through our college admissions practice, we guide high school students along their college admissions and application journey. We have worked with over 9,000 students globally, and this would not be possible without our Writing Specialists. The Writing Team collaborates with our college admissions coaches and program leadership to edit and review student application materials including personal statements, supplemental essays, resumes, Activities Sections, and more. The Writing Team is also responsible for drafting proprietary, coach-facing college admissions curriculum.
** Responsibilities**
- Provide meaningful and actionable feedback to students and college admission coaches for resumes, personal statements, supplemental essays, Activities Sections, and more within three (3) business days
- Participate in Committee Review, a collaborative workshop of student applications, and provide meaningful and actionable feedback on students’ applications
- Draft and revise proprietary curriculum for college admissions coaches on topics such as exploring extracurricular activities, developing a college list, and writing the personal statement
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on college admissions topics to ensure that our curriculum is informed by data and the latest trends in admissions
- Occasionally interview subject matter experts to collect their perspectives on particular admissions topics, using the information gathered to draft excellent curriculum
- Participate in monthly meetings with the Writing Team and the Program Manager
- Maintain detailed communication with the Program Manager to provide ongoing updates on writing and editing assignments
** Qualifications of our Ideal Candidate**
- Graduated from a top 50 university or top 20 liberal arts college
- Detailed knowledge of the U.S. college admissions process, familiarity with universities and colleges, understanding of best writing practices for college applications, and willingness to stay current with changes in the college admission process
- Experience in a writing or editing role and/or experience teaching
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks
- Availability during the week and on weekends, especially during the peak of college application season (mid-September - mid-January)
- Efficient time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
