    Position Overview

    The Assistant Preschool Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in implementing curriculum, supervising children, and maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging classroom. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and eager to contribute to a collaborative teaching team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum.

    Engage children in play, exploration, and learning while modeling positive behavior and social interactions.

    Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.

    Assist with daily routines such as meals, rest time, diapering and transitions.

    Communicate effectively and respectfully with children, families, and colleagues.

    Follow licensing regulations, FOCUS standards, and school policies at all times.

    Support children’s individual needs, including developmental milestones and social-emotional growth.

    Qualifications

    High School Diploma or equivalent required; CDA or college coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.

    Previous experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting preferred.

    Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

    Strong communication and organizational skills.

    A genuine love for working with children and supporting their growth.

    Must be able to pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
