A Day in the Life
Program Leadership & Licensing
• Ensure full compliance with state licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and program expectations
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports required by licensing agencies
• Lead licensing visits, inspections, and audits with confidence
Staff Leadership & Development
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate teaching and support staff
• Provide professional development opportunities and ongoing mentorship
• Coordinate staffing schedules to maintain proper ratios and coverage
• Cover classrooms as needed during staff absences or emergencies
Curriculum & Classroom Quality
• Support implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum
• Monitor classroom environments to ensure quality teaching and positive child outcomes
• Step in to maintain continuity of care whenever staffing needs arise
Family Communication
• Build strong, trusting relationships with families through consistent, warm communication
• Address parent concerns promptly and professionally in both English and Spanish
• Act as a visible, approachable presence that families feel comfortable turning to
Daily Operations
• Oversee daily center operations and proactively problem-solve
• Support enrollment, attendance tracking, and transitions
• Maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing preschool environment
The Qualifications You’ll Need
• Minimum 5 years of experience in preschool or early childhood education and 3 years minimum of Director experience
• Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written)
• Meets all state licensing requirements for a Preschool Director
• Strong knowledge of early childhood development, classroom management, and curriculum
• Has completed an administration or supervision course
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
• Background clearance as required by licensing
