We are seeking a skilled Preschool Chef to join our team and prepare nutritious, delicious meals that meet the dietary needs of our students while adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare nutritious, balanced meals and snacks for children ages 1 and up, following USDA Child Nutrition Guidelines.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with health department regulations.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring proper storage, preparation, and handling of food.
Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies, maintaining accurate records of children’s dietary needs.
Order and manage food supplies within budget constraints.
Maintain proper inventory control and ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working condition.
Follow school policies and licensing regulations regarding meal preparation and distribution.
Work collaboratively with school staff to support a positive mealtime environment for children.
Adhere to all state and local health department regulations, including record-keeping and inspections.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a chef in a school, preschool, daycare, or similar setting is preferred.
Current Food Handler’s Certification and/or Food Manager’s Certification (as required by local and state regulations).
CPR & First Aid Certification
Knowledge of child nutrition guidelines and food safety regulations.
Ability to prepare meals that meet diverse dietary needs, including allergies and cultural preferences.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
Must pass a background check in accordance with state licensing requirements.
