Preschool Cook Location: The Learning Experience – Cascade, MI Pay: $16–$17 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–4:30 PM

The Learning Experience – Cascade is seeking a dependable and organized Preschool Cook to prepare nutritious meals for children in our early childhood education center. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking, values food safety, and takes pride in supporting children’s health and well-being.

As our Preschool Cook, you will play an important role in creating a safe, positive mealtime experience for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

What You’ll Do

Plan, prepare, and cook daily meals and snacks that meet nutritional guidelines

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures

Track and monitor food allergies to ensure child safety

Communicate daily menu items and allergy information to teaching staff

Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with food ordering

Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and inspection-ready

Collaborate with center leadership to ensure compliance with Michigan licensing requirements

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Minimum 1 year of food preparation or cooking experience

Food handler certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days

Ability to lift at least 25 pounds

Strong organization and communication skills

Reliable and comfortable working in a childcare environment
