    Position Summary

    We are seeking an experienced, organized, and passionate Preschool Director to lead the daily operations of our early childhood program. The Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the center, including staff leadership, curriculum implementation, licensing compliance, family engagement, financial oversight, and program quality.

    The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills who is committed to providing high-quality care and education for young children.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership & Program Administration

    Oversee the day-to-day operations of the preschool.

    Supervise, mentor, and support teaching and administrative staff.

    Maintain compliance with all Indiana child care licensing regulations.

    Develop and implement center policies and procedures.

    Ensure appropriate staffing and child-to-teacher ratios.

    Maintain a safe, healthy, and welcoming learning environment.

    Build positive relationships with families and the community.

    Financial Management

    Prepare and manage the annual operating budget.

    Review monthly financial reports and monitor program expenses.

    Reconcile income and expenditures to ensure financial accuracy.

    Monitor tuition billing and enrollment-based revenue.

    Approve purchases and vendor contracts.

    Make budget-conscious decisions regarding staffing, equipment, supplies, and facility maintenance.

    Coordinate with accounting and payroll professionals as needed.

    Curriculum & Program Quality

    Oversee curriculum implementation and classroom quality.

    Support teachers with lesson planning and child assessments.

    Ensure curriculum aligns with Indiana Early Learning Standards.

    Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives.

    Promote professional development and coaching for educators.

    Human Resources

    Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new employees.

    Maintain employee files, certifications, and required documentation.

    Conduct staff evaluations and performance reviews.

    Support ongoing professional growth and training.

    Foster a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture.

    Family Engagement

    Conduct enrollment meetings and tours.

    Maintain open communication with families.

    Address parent questions and concerns professionally.

    Promote strong family partnerships that support children's success.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Applicants must meet Indiana licensing requirements for Preschool Directors, including:

    Minimum age of 21 years.

    Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field or other qualifying education and experience permitted under Indiana licensing regulations.

    Previous leadership experience in an early childhood setting preferred.

    Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain).

    Successful criminal background check and required state clearances.

    Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and financial management skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience supervising early childhood staff.

    Knowledge of Indiana child care licensing regulations.

    Experience with curriculum planning and child assessments.

    Familiarity with quality improvement systems and accreditation standards.

    Experience managing budgets and business operations.
