Under the Magic Pine Tree is opening a new preschool campus in Reno, Nevada and is seeking a thoughtful, reliable Preschool Director to lead the launch of this location.

This role is an opportunity to help build a school community grounded in intentional classroom environments, strong relationships, and respect for children as capable learners.

We are looking for an early childhood educator who values curiosity, organization, and thoughtful leadership while guiding teachers and families through the opening of a new program.

The Founding Director Role

The Preschool Director / Child Care Center Director will lead the opening and growth of our new Reno campus while maintaining the philosophy and culture that define our schools.

During the early phase of the school’s launch, this role will combine leadership and classroom presence as enrollment grows.

Responsibilities include:

• welcoming families and conducting tours • building enrollment during the opening phase • recruiting and mentoring early childhood teachers • maintaining beautiful and organized classroom environments • supporting reflective teaching practices • ensuring licensing compliance and operational systems • working closely with ownership to support the school’s vision

Qualifications

Candidates must meet Nevada licensing requirements for Preschool Director / Child Care Center Director.

Preferred experience includes:

• Early Childhood Education leadership • Preschool or childcare center management • teacher coaching and classroom support • licensing compliance and operational oversight

Experience with play-based, inquiry-based, or Reggio-inspired programs is highly valued.

Compensation

Starting salary: $46,000 annually

Compensation increases as enrollment grows and the program develops.
