Job Title: Preschool Teacher – Afterschool Program (August Start)
Classification: Part-Time
Compensation: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
This position is expected to start in the first week of August 2026.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Preschool Teacher to lead a classroom of young learners throughout the school year. Your role involves assessing students’ current academic levels, designing tailored instruction to meet diverse needs, and creating an engaging, nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth. Your creativity, problem-solving skills, and ability to connect with children will be vital to their success.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate, comprehensive curriculum
Teach foundational reading and math skills aligned with age-appropriate standards
Support the development of social, emotional, and behavioral skills in children
Use diverse instructional methods and learning techniques to engage students
Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff
Assess student progress and ensure developmental milestones are met
Foster a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom atmosphere
Maintain classroom health, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with health protocols
Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioral development
Qualifications:
EEC State Teaching Certification is required, with options to pursue credentials within designated timelines
Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required, with relevant early childhood education experience highly valued
Commitment to participating in ongoing professional development and meeting EEC-mandated training requirements
Understanding of the regulations put out by the Department of Early Education and Care, following all the guidelines stipulated in 606 CMR 7.00
Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early education and classroom management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, and classroom management skills
Ability to create an engaging, inclusive learning environment tailored to diverse learners
