    Job Summary We are seeking an energetic teacher that is passionate about teaching children, creative and has good problem-solving skills. This position requires at least 2-5 years experience as a lead preschool teacher, to join our team! You will be leading a class of preschoolers assessing their current academic level, and designing instruction to meet their collective and individual needs. We want to help children reach their full potential and prepare them for the next grade. You will create weekly lesson plans and monthly newsletters. We work on age appropriate learning activities to build confidence and independence. We also schedule events as a school with Harvest Festivals, visits from Santa Claus and Christmas programs and Easter Egg Hunts with Mr. Easter Bunny. We celebrate holidays with classroom parties and teach the children to be giving and helpful to people in need such as our St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital Trike a thons, raising money for children with Cancer. Our school focus' on teaching our students to be kind, respectful and compassionate to others.

    Responsibilities

    Create and follow a comprehensive curriculum

    Teach pre- reading and pre-math skills

    Assist children with developing social and emotional skills

    Use Love and Logic and Montessori instructional methods and learning techniques

    Communicate with parents and other school personnel

    Assess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones

    Qualifications

    Must have at least 3-5 years experience as a lead teacher

    CDA certification a plus

    Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines

    Problem-solving and mediation skills
