About Us

The Umbrella Tree Child Development Center is a licensed child development center in Long Beach, California, serving children from six weeks through kindergarten. The Role

As a Teacher's Assistant at The Umbrella Tree, you are an active and essential part of the classroom team. You support the Lead Teacher, contribute to the environment, and show up fully present for every child in your care — every day.

You will:

Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining a warm, organized, and engaging classroom

Actively engage with children throughout the day — on their level, present, and attentive

Use positive, expectation-forward language with children at all times

Assist with daily routines including meals, transitions, and activities

Help maintain classroom materials, supplies, and cleanliness to our standard

Support documentation and recordkeeping as directed by the Lead Teacher

Participate fully in professional development and required training

Required Qualifications

All credentials must be current and verified before working independently with children.

Minimum 12 ECE units

Mandated Reporter Training (AB 1432)

Pediatric CPR/First Aid (current)

Food Handler's Certification

TB clearance

DOJ/FBI LiveScan fingerprint clearance
