    SUMMARY

    The Pinelake Preschool and Children's Associate, Starkville Campus, is responsible for assisting the Children's Minister in leading, shepherding, and guiding the spiritual development of staff, leaders, and children within the children's ministry. This role supports the Children's Minister in developing, implementing, and promoting the Preschool (Little Lakers) and Children's Ministry with a primary focus on children from birth to kindergarten and their families. The Preschool and Chilldren's Associate helps uphold Pinelake's vision of learning from Christ, living in Christ, and leading others to Christ.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Works in coordination with the overall goals and objectives of Pinelake Church.
    • Assists the children's minister to work toward excellence in all areas of the ministry.
    • As a part of the overall Starkville Campus staff team, participate in campus-wide ministry events and the shepherding of our Starkville Campus faith family.
    • Basic personal responsibilities:
      • Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer, meditation and practicing L3.
      • Maintain proper priorities in your home including your spouse and children (if married and/or with children).
      • Faithfully support the ministries of Pinelake by maintaining wise stewardship measures over the resources entrusted to you.
      • Maintain active participation in community.
      • Reflect a growing awareness and practice of personal Emotional Healthy Spirituality.
      • Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner to glorify Christ and further the mission and ministry purposes of Pinelake Church (Colossians 3:23-24).

    SPECIFIC LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Leadership & Support

    • Assist with leadership in Little Lakers (birth-kindergarten) and Kids (1st –4th)
    • Provides support for small group leadership, including directors, coaches, and teachers.
    • Assists with strategic events such as Family Gathering and Outreach Events.
    • Coordinates weekly childcare for groups ministry and other events.
    • Assists with weekly curriculum and classroom preparation.
    • Works to schedule weekly leaders.

    Servant Leader Recruitment & Development:

    • Recruit servant leaders as small group coaches, small group teachers, hospitality leaders, large group leaders, and special events.
    • Ensures Pinelake's Our House Promise (OHP) policy is implemented in all ministry areas, and all servant leaders have met OHP requirements and training.

    Curriculum & Environment Preparation:

    • Prepares Sunday morning LL and Kids environments and content in collaboration with the Children's Team.

    Baptisms:

    • Supports the Children's Minister in leading children and families through the baptism process, including Jesus Centered Life conversations.

    Event Support:

    • Assists with the development of children's ministry environments for monthly ministries and special events.

    Other Duties:

    • Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the ministry.

    This position serves a critical role in supporting the day-to-day functions of the Children's Ministry, ensuring a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environment for children, families, and servant leaders.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree (or in pursuit of) and one to two years of ministry-related experience and/or training including but not limited to servant leadership.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    The individual must have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with a diverse group of people, communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, e-mail and in person, demonstrating tact and diplomacy. Exceptional interpersonal skills are required to develop and maintain strong working relationships with volunteers, co-workers, the public and church members and regular attendees.

    The individual must have the ability to understand written or oral instructions; read, analyze and interpret complex documents, instructions manuals, policies and procedures is essential.

    COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    The individual must have demonstrated skill in the use of Windows/MacOS to complete tasks, including word processing and spreadsheets and the ability to use the internet for information retrieval. The individual must have basic mathematical skills, knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting, and budget and expense monitoring. The individual must have the ability to read financial information and spreadsheets.

    REASONING ABILITY

    The individual must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries; simultaneous conceptualization and planning of multiple tasks, ability to project outcomes using different implementation strategies and ability to apply creative and innovative thinking to problem situations; and solve practical problems. The ability to work effectively and efficiently under stressful conditions to ensure deadlines are met is essential.
