Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and experienced Preschool cook/ teacher to join our team! You will be preparing meals for preschool and school age students. You will be required to fill in and lead a class of students as needed to meet staffing ratios.

You must be passionate about learning and helping students reach their potential. With strong creative and problem-solving skills, you must love connecting with individual students and creating an engaging school environment.

Responsibilities

Follow a menu and prepare breakfast, lunch and PM snack in a timely manner

Master basic math to calculate food required based required serving size

Log meal counts at point of service

assist in creating an order of groceries, cooking and cleaning supplies needed

Maintain an organized kitchen and Pantry area

Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and storage area

Log medication administered

Follow a comprehensive curriculum when in classroom

Assist children with developing social and emotional skills

Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques

Communicate with parents and other school personnel

Assess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones

Qualifications

12 post-secondary units or more in child development from an accredited college or university

Current food Handler card

Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines

Problem-solving and mediation skills
