FINANCIAL SERVICES INTERNSHIP

POSITION OVERVIEW

This internship position is available for a motivated individual seeking exposure to all facets of a comprehensive financial planning practice. This includes areas of Investment Management Research, Analysis and Reporting, Administration and Operations, Financial Planning (Initial financial plans and periodic financial plan reviews/updates), Financial Planning Research and Special Projects, Tax Management, Insurance and Estate Planning, with a marketing exposure.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONS AND BRAND DEVELOPMENT:

· Assisting in the execution of daily operations to include but not limited to CRM database input, administrative clerical duties, and client service support.

· Content Development – Provide support for the creation of content that will motivate and entertain prospects to attend the firm’s main marketing seminar of Retirement 101.

· Marketing Mentorship – An opportunity to work in tandem with one of the financial industry’s marketing experts to develop innovative strategies to improve brand awareness and engagement.

· Social Media Development – Assist in developing creative outlooks to provide content that can engage prospects by understanding their motivators and drivers to result in lead generation.

· Project Management – Contribute as an integral part of the prospect marketing team to develop contact campaigns using industry insights, competitive research, and evaluation.

INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT DUTIES:

· Assist in the development of presentations to clients and potential clients

· Prepare transfer paperwork. Perform follow-up on transfer processes and record progress

· Maintain and update various information regarding recommended investments

· Update and maintain spreadsheets for analysis

FINANCIAL PLANNING DUTIES:

· Assist in the development of presentations to clients and potential clients

· Research insurance company information

· Call various companies for information on behalf of clients

· Assist in preparation financial exhibits

REQUIRED SKILLS

· Basic understanding of Finance and Financial Products including, but not limited to, Equities, Mutual Funds, Fixed Income, Real Estate, Insurance, Annuities, etc.

· Knowledge of Qualified vs Non-Qualified account types and tax implications of each

· A desire to learn and grow

· Team Oriented

· Strong communication, verbal and written, skills

· The ability to give and receive candid feedback

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

· 20 to 40 hours per week

· Entry level starting pay rate but could increase depending on performance and experience

· Position could evolve to full-time, based on performance
