Title: Press Brake Operator
Shift: First Shift | 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Monday – Thursday)
Salary: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour (Dependent on experience)
Press Brake Operator Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to manage a dedicated work center within their custom machinery and metal fabrication shop. This role is essential for transforming raw steel, stainless steel, and aluminum into precision-engineered components for diverse, project-based equipment.
Press Brake Operator Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain CNC and manual press brakes to form custom metal parts
Perform full work center setup, including selecting and loading appropriate dies
Interpret complex blueprints and technical prints to determine specific bend requirements
Utilize calipers and protractors to verify that all parts meet exact specifications and tolerances
Maneuver materials throughout the facility using forklifts and overhead cranes
Collaborate with the shop supervisor and team members to ensure project deadlines are met
Adapt to varying daily tasks, including operating saws or rolls and performing assembly work as needed
Maintain a clean and safe workspace while adhering to all shop safety protocols
Press Brake Operator Reporting Relationships:
The Press Brake Operator reports directly to the Shop Supervisor. This role does not have any direct reports.
About You:
Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in metal fabrication and press brake operation
Demonstrate high proficiency in working with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Maintain the ability to work independently and manage a "one-off" project-based workflow
Show a strong background in reading and interpreting technical blueprints
Hold a forklift and crane certification or have the ability to become certified upon hire
Exhibit a collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a focus on long-term career growth
Display versatility in operating various shop machinery beyond the press brake
Value a low-stress, professional environment and maintain open communication with leadership
