    Press Brake Operator

    DEPARTMENT:

    General Production

    REPORTS TO:

    Shift Supervisor

    JOB SUMMARY

    Perform setup and operation functions on CNC Press Brakes. Assist supervisor in identifying maintenance issues. Perform all work activities in accordance with Health and Safety Program and ISO 9001 Quality System. Evaluate fabrication processes to determine the best methods of production of sheet metal products. Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

    JOB DUTIES

    1. Receive instructions, prints, and work orders for the job

    2. Setup the CNC Press Brakes according to the work instructions

    3. Operate press brakes to perform production operations

    4. Assist other employees in setup and operation functions as needed

    5. Operate other production machines as needed

    6. Seek to maximize the output of quality fabricated metal parts per production schedule

    7. Identify improvements of fabrication methods that will increase quality and profitability

    8. Identify maintenance issues as they arise

    9. Provide information as requested to other departments to facilitate the completion of work projects

    10. Comply with all facets of the Health and Safety Program

    11. Perform projects within the framework of the ISO 9001 Quality System

    12. Exhibit professional demeanor

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Exhibits adequate verbal and written communication skills

    2. Exhibits good problem-solving skills

    3. Exhibits adequate computer skills

    4. Able to read drawings to include material and part specifications, tolerances, notes, symbols, and multiple part views after completion of training

    5. Able to recognize sheet metal types, gauges, sheet sizes, and finishes

    6. Able to use measuring instruments such as digital calipers and protractors after completion of training

    7. Has prior press brake setup and operation experience

    8. Has working knowledge of sheet metal types and gauges

    9. Able to use computer software as needed to maintain production records

    You should be proficient in:

    • Equipment Troubleshooting
    • Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills
    • ISO 9001 Certification Experience
    • Machine Setups for Production Runs
    • Blueprint Reading

    Salary info:

    $20 - $24 / hr
