Take your coaching career to the next level as a Team Gymnastics Coach. This role focuses on helping each athlete reach their full potential through careful observation, individualized feedback, and effective team strategies using prepared team lesson plans, creative drills and skills progressions.

In addition to teaching skills, refining routines and preparing for competitions, the Team Coach works closely with the Head Team Coaches to ensure organized, productive, and inspiring practices while helping to design weekly lesson plans, evaluate athlete progress, and identify opportunities for growth.

Join us as a Team Gymnastics Coach and lead athletes toward success with skill, dedication, and passion for the sport.

    Responsibilities

Ensure a safe and organized gym environment, adhering to all equipment safety protocols and proper spotting techniques. When in doubt, seek guidance from a supervisor.

Attend all required training sessions and follow established lesson plans or those provided by Head Coaches.

Coach actively and effectively throughout warm-ups, conditioning, and class activities—maintaining control, focus, and a positive tone.

Motivate and engage gymnasts through structured group work, stations, and circuits while addressing individual needs and encouraging progress.

Use positive reinforcement to support gymnasts’ emotional well-being, confidence, and behavior.

Communicate clearly with gymnasts, staff, and Lead Coaches to maximize learning and maintain a positive environment.

Arrive on time, prepared with written or pre-prepared lesson plans, and maintain an enthusiastic, cooperative attitude.

Track attendance and athlete progress accurately, completing required reports as directed.

Wear appropriate attire and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

Clock in/out promptly and keep accurate time records.

Monitor and coach all aspects of practice, including warmups and conditioning—remain engaged and avoid idle conversation.

Strive to improve every gymnast, helping each athlete reach their highest potential and remain committed to the program.

    Requirements

A genuine passion for working with children, patience in teaching, and a love for gymnastics.

Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and compassion in all coaching interactions.

Uphold the Vision Gymnastics Mission, Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct, and all USAG and SafeSport policies.

Use positive, constructive communication—avoid gossip, complaints, or negative remarks. Bring any program concerns directly to the Head Coach or Manager.

Maintain an active, professional presence during classes; avoid sitting or disengagement unless necessary.

Submit time-off requests through Paychex at least two weeks in advance, pending managerial approval.

Attend all assigned meets and events for your athletes.

Collaborate with Head Coaches on athlete progress and placement decisions—avoid making independent assessments.

Be able to stand for extended periods, follow lesson plans and visual aids, and set up and dismantle equipment as needed.

Have the physical ability to lift 50 lbs or more and perform essential coaching movements such as spotting, lifting, climbing, balancing, and adjusting equipment.

Know and apply all emergency and evacuation procedures and ensure new athletes are familiar with gym safety practices.
